(The Beaches Near Uvita)
    8 Mar 2002

One day Scott and I decided to make the 50 minute walk down to the beach to see the sunset. And look at. Wow, beautiful!

We heard there was a beach about 20 minutes away called Playa Ventana which we might have all too ourselves. The problem was we didn't have a car to get there. So I hitchhiked for the first time. All it was totally fine. Though we did have to walk awhile before anyone picked us up.This guy in a minibus who was headed to pick up tourists and drive them somewhere picked us up and drove us there. Then while at the beach we meant a nice family from Ohio who drove us back to Uvita. And it was worth it. When we got there we did have the beach all to ourselves for a few hours. But throughout the day only a few people showed up. We got to explore some caves hike along the rocks and seeing what cool art water can do.

Here are the really cool caves to play in. At low tide you can walk through them. But at high tide the water is rushing through them. We didn't stay until full high tide but this picture shows the tide coming in.

We took a walk out to a rock outpost and looked back at the beach. About an hour later when the tide had come in all these rocks were under water.

Nature is amazing. On a large portion of the beach the tide has created these tree like drawings in the sand.
