On our first day of class in Quepos we met Jesse. The crazy thing was we saw Jesse 4 days earlier
in San Jose. We only passed each other in the park and said 'Buenas' (Good day - its short for Buenas
dias). Scott and I just assumed she was another tica. Then the first day she recognized us. This was
our first example of how small the country is. So far its happened with two other people. Jesse's
tico family was planning a camping trip that weekend and she invited us to go along. It was one of
the best experiences I had in Quepos. Her tico family was so welcoming and fun. They told lots of
jokes and laughed a lot. That night we all sat around the campfire, and enjoyed each others company.
They had a campfire not for warmth but to keep the bugs away.
