Defect In Humanity - Lyrics
from a hole in the ground, in a faraway land
with a few devout followers and a warped Koran
billions of people have read the same words--
do you ever wonder why their beliefs aren't yours?

i smelled the smoke from the Pentagon,
i thought of the people who were now gone.
shed a tear for my country, and said a prayer for the world--
i thought of the anger that's been unfurled...

do i want revenge? i don't know...
it won't make things better, i want something though--
i just want to sleep at night knowing for sure
this defect in humanity can't harm mankind
anymore...

your plan to use planes worked horribly well
you turned a city into a hell...
you'll just keep on running it's all that you've known
you harm other homes without one of your own

but like a flood, volunteers came
gave sweat and blood and didn't need fame
all colors of skin, all kinds of names
if this happened in your land, could you could you say the same?

do i want revenge? i don't know.
we lost family and friends, that's a real hard blow.
i'd like to sleep at night knowing for sure
this defect in humanity can't harm mankind
anymore...
